Mahamadou Diarra is playing his way to a long-term Fulham deal.
The Sun says the former Real Madrid midfielder, 30, has shone since arriving on a free in January and signing a deal until the summer.
There is also an option for another year at Craven Cottage and Diarra is set to speak to his advisers about staying.
Boss Martin Jol played the key role in persuading Diarra to sign - and Fulham are unbeaten in the last four games featuring the Mali international.
