DFB remain determined to prise Klopp away from Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp remains on the radar of the German Football Federation (DFB).

The DFB have named Julian Nagelsmann as new coach after the dismissal of Hansi Flick a fortnight ago.

Nagelsmann takes the job after his sacking by Bayern Munich last season.

His contract runs to July 31, 2024 - two weeks after the end of Euro204, which will be held in Germany. Not the DFB, nor Nagelsmann, have said anything about an option to extend.

Indeed, German press sources state the DFB's top choice to take charge remains Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. Klopp twice rejected approaches from the DFB in a matter of months over the summer. But there's hope the landscape will have changed for Klopp by August 2024.

Klopp's deal with the Reds runs to 2026.
