France coach Didier Deschamps had a big influence on Paul Pogba's performance for Manchester United last night.
Pogba, who was named captain by United boss Jose Mourinho before kickoff, produced a goalscoring performance for the 2-1 win against Leicester City.
And afterwards, the World Cup winner pledged his commitment to United for the new season, despite the continued interest of Barcelona.
Key in Pogba's commitment is Deschamps, reports RMC, who spoke to the midfielder about his situation and recommended he stay with United - and work with Mourinho.
And the gesture by Mourinho to hand Pogba the captaincy is now being seen as a thawing of the frostiness between the two since last season's friction.
