Derby are in talks over a £3.5 million deal for Sheffield United defender Claude Davis.
Davies was the Jamaican defender's gaffer at Preston and is keen to throw him a Premiership lifeline.
Davis will look to leave Bramall Lane if there is no reprieve from the Premiership panel looking into the West Ham affair.
