Derby boss Wayne Rooney is targeting Manchester United midfielder Amad.

The Daily Mail says Derby are keen to sign Amad on loan, as Wayne Rooney turns to his former club to bolster his squad in the January transfer window.

The Ivorian arrived from Atalanta to huge fanfare in a £25 million deal in January last year, but his opportunities at Old Trafford have been very limited so far.

The 19-year-old has featured just nine times in all competitions for United's senior squad scoring one goal.

This season, Amad played 68 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Young Boys in the Champions League and was an unused sub in the 3-2 win over Arsenal in the Premier League.
