Pepe Mel has been named new coach of Deportivo La Coruna.
Mel takes over a Deportivo side just two points above the drop.
Marca reports roughly 200 fans visited the Abegondo training ground just to see the ex-Betis man's first training session in charge of the Galician team - even though the facilities are more than 30km from the city of A Coruna itself.
After officially being announced at Estadio Riazor earlier in the afternoon, Mel called for a session to be held at 16:30, in which the team began preparing for the Atletico Madrid showdown on Thursday.
He replaced Gaizka Garitano after his sacking yesterday.
