Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand is delighted to have a Champions League winner part of his Euros squad.
Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has joined the Danes after celebrating winning the Champions League final on Saturday.
Hjulmand said: "It has been a good and long move for AC. We have to keep in mind that he is only 25. I also followed him when he was loaned out to Germany at a very young age and played great for Gladbach. He has come back and has been a bit out and in of this Chelsea team.
"As soon as (Thomas) Tuchel landed, you could see that he was the type of defender who suited that way of playing. He is extremely fast on the pitch, is very careful in his defensive play and then he has become strong and calm on the ball. I think it's been an amazingly good development.
"In the national matches he has played at a very high level. It is gratifying to see the qualities that AC has built up since he was a young player. I remember that as a year 96 he moved up to year 94-95 on the national teams. He has long had these promising qualities at this level."
