Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat has made it clear that he won't be playing Jermain Defoe as a lone striker.
32-year-old Defoe, who has scored five goals this season from a wide position, is likely to continue playing wide with new signing Fabio Borini set to get the nod up front against Tottenham on Sunday.
Advocaat said: "As a striker, Jermain can't do it on his own upfront. Maybe in a two but not on his own."
