Former Liverpool striker Dean Saunders says Trent Alexander-Arnold should play permanently in midfield.

Alexander-Arnold has impressed for Liverpool and England in his new role this year.

Saunders said: "Trent is better than all the midfielders there are in England.

"He can do everything (Declan) Rice does and, on top of that, he can pass as Thiago Alcántara. If I were Jürgen Klopp, I would buy a right-back and move Trent into midfield."

However, manager Klopp has stated: . "Why put the best right-back in the world as a midfielder? I don't get it. As if the right-back position isn't so important like the others."
