DC United star Wayne Rooney has paid tribute to former England teammate John Terry.
Chelsea icon Terry announced his retirement on the weekend.
Rooney wrote: "My toughest opponent. Congratulations to John Terry on a brilliant career," followed by three clapping hands emojis.
The pair battled it out over a decade as Manchester United and Chelsea dominated the Premier League.
