Crespo backing Bielsa for Inter Milan job

Hernan Crespo believes Marcelo Bielsa would be a good appointment for Inter Milan.

Bielsa is in the frame to replace Leonardo at Inter.

One of Bielsa's most famous jobs was at the helm of Argentina when crashing out in the first round of the 2002 World Cup and recently resigned from the Chile bench in protest at a change in the FA.

"That's all water under the bridge," Parma striker Crespo told the Gazzetta dello Sport after their furious rows.

"I always maintained Bielsa disappointed me on a personal level, not a professional one. He is a great Coach and when someone is talented, he can be all over the world - in Argentina, Chile, Europe and Italy.

"I must admit he irritated me when he maintained I could not play alongside Gabriel Batistuta. We had both played with teammates of similar characteristics in our careers."

Parma hitman Crespo gave an insider's view of what it was like to work with Bielsa.

"He is meticulous and very focused on the details. Everything is organised perfectly. His training sessions last a couple of hours and in that time you are not allowed to catch your breath.

"His tactical lessons were extremely long, sometimes players would fall asleep during them... The fact is that Bielsa wants to experiment everything, so many games between ranks to practice the movements of attacking and defending.

"Bielsa was absolutely clear in the locker room with iron-clad rules."
