Newcastle and England striker Michael Owen admits his chances of beating Alan Shearer's Premier League goals record are slim.
The 27-year-old is currently undergoing treatment in Germany on the thigh injury he suffered in England's 1-0 friendly victory in Austria last week.
He has added just nine to take his tally to 126, a return which leaves him in eighth place in the all-time list.
He said: "I would like to break Al's record, I am not saying I wouldn't. But Alan is Alan and he scored a phenomenal amount of Premier League goals.
"You are always after a lot of records, but that might be stretching it a bit too much.
"Newcastle have been blessed over the years with some top players, especially going forward.
"If you look at the highest scorers in the Premier League, most of them have played at Newcastle - and not just played here, but scored more of their goals here.
"There's been Andy Cole, Les Ferdinand and obviously Alan, and that is something the club can be proud of."
