Motherwell boss Mark McGhee is aware that beating St Mirren on Saturday will not solve the club's problems. McGhee's side are joint bottom of the SPL after six matches and crashed out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup on Wednesday after a derby defeat to Hamilton.
"It's not going to be one win against St Mirren and everything will be better," said McGhee.
"I think we are going to have to work hard over the next month and really drag ourselves through it. It's not going to happen overnight."
McGhee added: "I watched St Mirren the other night, and like us they lost. But I left the game at 0-0 and I thought St Mirren would probably win the game.
"They weren't that bad and, for large periods of our game, we weren't that bad. So it will be another hard game."
