Colorado Rapids sign ex-Celta Vigo, Real Betis forward Edu

Colorado Rapids have announced the signing of Brazilian forward Edu.

The 33-year old is now eligible for selection for the Rapids after receiving his International Transfer Certificate and his visa.

Edu has previously played with the likes of Sao Paulo in his homeland as well as Celta Vigo and Real Betis in Spain and the Rapids are excited about his arrival.

"In adding Edu to our roster, we've given our team more options and depth in attack," said Rapids Technical Director Paul Bravo.

"We've also had to make other roster moves, and would like to wish Josh the best moving forward."

As Edu comes in to the Colorado roster, midfielder Josh Janniere was released while Ross LaBauex has been added to the disabled list after undergoing surgery for a hernia which will keep him out for up to six weeks.
