Club Brugge goalkeeper Simon Mignolet says leaving Liverpool at the start of the season was the right decision.
He decided in August to join Brugge rather than remain an understudy to Alisson, a decision that backfired soon afterwards when Jurgen Klopp's No1 hurt his calf and allowed the new deputy Adrian to play 10 league games.
"The moment Alisson got injured I received a lot of messages along the lines of 'You've just gone and he's got injured'. But I knew that could happen when I made my transfer. I just wanted to play week-in, week-out and that is what I am doing now," said Mignolet.
"It was well thought through by me. I preferred to play regularly than 10 or 15 games a season. We are top of the league in Belgium and are in the cup final so I could win the Double."
