Cristian Chivu was pleased with his comeback for Inter Milan in last night's 3-0 win over Livorno.
The Romania defender required emergency surgery on January 6 when he clashed heads with Chievo's Sergio Pellissier.
He returned for last night's 3-0 win over Livorno with the aid of a protective helmet in the style of Petr Cech.
"I was not afraid, no, but I must say I was more nervous than usual," confessed the Romanian.
"The last time I remember such strong emotions was in Euro 2000 when I played my first match with the national team.
"It went well, the lads were very close to me both off the field and on it. I have to thank everyone because it is my first real interview since the accident.
"I don't want to name names, as I will certainly end up leaving someone out. I just want to thank everybody who was close to me and who helped me through this time."
