Arne Friedrich has returned to Germany to seek specialist advice on his hip problem.

The Chicago Fire have confirmed that the 33-year old former Hertha Berlin and Wolfsburg defender has begun treatment with therapist Thomas Fennewald, who has previously worked with Friedrich during his career.

Friedrich, who is yet to feature for the Fire this season, will remain in Germany before returning to Chicago on July 1.
