Chelsea were keen on Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak before signing Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Mundo Deportivo says Chelsea tried to land Oblak before they signed Kepa.

The Slovenian was Chelsea's real target at the start of the season.

The Spanish paper claims the west London outfit were ready to pay €100m (£87m) for the highly-rated shot-stopper.

But remarkably, Atletico owner Miguel Angel Gil Marin is said to have immediately put a stop to any move after he heard of Chelsea's interest.
