Chelsea are to step up plans for Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki this week.

The Blues are launching a bid for the youngster.

Chelsea transfer expert Simon Phillips is reporting are to make a contract offer to Cherki this week.

And once terms are agreed, they will make an opening offer to Lyon.

The Ligue 1 club want €50m to sell the midfielder, though Chelsea aim to agree closer to €40m.
