Chelsea striker Sturridge: Bolton spell gave me shot of self-belief

Chelsea striker Danny Sturridge says his spell at Bolton Wanderers has given the shot of belief he needed.

Sturridge has reaped the benefit of regular first-team football and the 21-year-old, who Owen Coyle would love to bring back to the Reebok next season, believes his loan spell with Wanderers was the making of him.

The in-form striker told the Bolton News: "Playing at Bolton helped me a lot.

"When I was at Chelsea, I was low on confidence because I wasn't getting the opportunities.

"Playing first-team football was all I wanted. I got that at Bolton.

"And, next season, it will be important for me to get those first team opportunities.

"I feel it will take my game to the next level."
