Chelsea signing Benoit Badiashile has said his farewell to former club AS Monaco.

Badiashile signed for Chelsea yesterday in a deal worth £30m.

He said, "I never have enough words to summarise my story with the mythical club AS Monaco.

"I've experienced everything in this club: from the gym to my debut in Ligue 1. I made my debut under Thierry Henry and proudly wore my shirt more than 100 times.

"I have felt your support for seven years, both the good and the bad moments, and you must know that I will never forget you. I arrived as a child, I leave from here as a man.

"I will forever be red and white in my heart. Thanks for everything and Daghe Munegu!"
