The Daily Express says the Argentine defender has caught the eye at the World Cup, with Liverpool thought to be lining up a £12m bid for the defender.
Barcelona and Juventus are also thought to be interested, but reports in Portugal now suggest that Chelsea have also emerged as a suitor.
