Chelsea are ready to give Tiemoue Bakayoko a second chance.
The Sun says it is understood that AC Milan are not willing to pay the £32.5 million fee to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
With a two-window transfer ban looming, Chelsea could recall him to bolster their midfield for the 2019-20 campaign.
Milan have no intention of offloading Bakayoko this summer as he has become a regular in Gennaro Gattuso's first-team.
The one-cap France international has made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Italian side this season.
Milan are set to propose a cut-price deal for the 24-year-old, but the Blues are not expected to entertain any offers.
