Chelsea are preparing a summer move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

The Holland international has long been a target for Manchester United, where his former Ajax coach Erik ten Hag is driving the move.

However, Football Insider says Chelsea are now joining the race.

Blues owner Todd Boehly is a big fan and will make an attempt for the midfielder this summer, despite De Jong being clear that he wants to stay in Catalonia.

Barcelona have publicly stated that De Jong is no longer for sale, but the club must make at least one big transfer this summer to bring the budget in line with La Liga's salary cap.
