Chelsea players baffled by 'insulting' captaincy snub for Thiago Silva

Chelsea players feel manager Mauricio Pochettino has insulted Thiago Silva.

The Guardian says Chelsea players are baffled by Pochettino's decision to overlook Thiago for the captaincy in the absence of skipper Reece James and vice-captain Ben Chilwell.

With both players sidelined due to injury, Pochettino has given the armband to Conor Gallagher ahead of the Brazilian.

Even Levi Colwill has been captain this season when Gallagher was suspended.

The decision has led to discussion amongst the players about whether it is insulting to their veteran teammate to be ignored as he has.
