Chelsea paying for 24-hour security for Ecuador pair Caicedo, Paez

Chelsea are paying for 24-hour security for two of their summer signings.

The Blues are said to be footing a huge bill for 16-year-old starlet Kendry Paez and the family of British-record signing Moises Caicedo.

Both players have families who are living in Ecuador, where there is significant unrest.

Violent scenes in Ecuador are said to have concerned the club, who are paying to ensure their players' extended families are protected.

The Telegraph states that Chelsea are especially worried about Paez, who is still in Ecuador with Independiente until he can join Chelsea in May 2025.

Staff from Stamford Bridge remain in contact with Paez, as they want him to eventually seamlessly integrate into life at Stamford Bridge.
