Chelsea owner Boehly to stick with commitment made to Edson Alvarez

Chelsea remain in the hunt for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez.

Chelsea pushed to sign the Mexico international on deadline day this season, only for Ajax to refuse to do business.

CBS Sports' Ben Jacobs reports Blues owner Todd Boehly made a commitment to Alvarez in September, and he plans to abide by it.

Ajax are ready to sell in the coming transfer window: last summer Chelsea were willing to pay €50m for the midfielder.

Ajax refused to do business on deadline day as they had no time to find a replacement.

Alvarez would arrive at Chelsea to replace veteran N'Golo Kante.
