Chelsea owner Abramovich read riot act to Hiddink, Russian players

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich read Guus Hiddink the riot act after seeing Russia beaten in Israel on Saturday night, it has been revealed.

The Daily Mail says the Stamford Bridge boss stormed into the Russian dressing room after the match to complain about the performance to players and manager Hiddink.

"The way you played tonight there would not have been any point in reaching the Euro 2008 finals anyway," he is reported to have said after the 2-1 defeat.

Abramovich was still in a bad mood more than 24 hours later, when he was involved in a skirmish with a photographer outside his Tel Aviv hotel.

The billionaire is alleged to have manhandled Yoni Tobaly who followed him from a restaurant to his hotel.

The photographer has since lodged a complaint with police and a spokesman confirmed that the matter was being investigated.
