Chelsea have surprisingly recalled Cesare Casadei from his loan at Leicester City.

The midfielder has impressed with the Foxes as they chase promotion back to the Premier League.

But he has now been recalled by his parent club.

Chelsea announced: "Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei has been recalled from his loan spell at Leicester City. Casadei made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Foxes this season and scored three goals.

"The 21-year-old joined the Blues in August 2022 from Inter Milan and was part of the first-team squad that travelled to the United States for pre-season in the summer."
