Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insisted his team had to bounce back with a victory over Norwich City on Sunday.
The Blues drew 1-1 at Tottenham last weekend so Mourinho was well aware of just how important it was to grab maximum points at Carrow Road as he watched his team record a 3-1 result after the Canaries levelled it in the 68th minute following Oscar's early opener.
Demba Ba had missed a great chance to send Chelsea two goals clear before Anthony Pilkington's equaliser and it was after that moment that Mourinho made changes by sending on Samuel Eto'o as well as goalscorers Eden Hazard and Willian.
"During the game I am not nervous. I have feelings. I smell things, and when that easy goal (from Ba) was missed, I had a smell that they would score a goal," said Mourinho.
"That is why I had Eden warming up at 1-0 because I smelled that.
"We could have won or lost it at 1-1 because we, at that moment, we didn't want a point.
"If they had scored a second goal, we would probably lose, but we are trying to be top.
"After a point at Spurs, a point here would have been a bad result for us, so we tried to win it."
