Tiemoue Bakayoko's demise at AC Milan has stunned local media.
The Chelsea midfielder is on-loan at Milan this season, but has struggled with the demands of Serie A.
Italian pundit Pietro Mazzara told Eurosport: "It is incomprehensible this regression since his Monegasque period and his first months at Chelsea.
"It seems that Milan has recovered the shy brother of Bakayoko. His performances on the ground suggest big difficulties in adapting to Italian football. His career is very similar to that of (Geoffrey) Kondogbia at Inter.
"His substitution at half-time against Betis is significant, (coach Rino) Gattuso lost patience. A return to Chelsea this winter? It's hard to imagine, Milan paid €5m for his loan. But if a new coach comes in January, then everything can change."
