Chelsea face keeper crisis after victory

Michael Ballack and Frank Lampard put Chelsea into the Champions League semi-final at the expense of Fenerbahce. But already without Petr Cech following his facial injury, Carlo Cudicini limped off clutching his right hamstring in the 26th minute at Stamford Bridge.

Hilario came on to protect the slender lead, with Ballack's early strike edging Chelsea ahead on away goals. Lampard added a second three minutes from full-time.

Michael Essien got a needless booking for dissent with five minutes remaining, ruling the midfielder out of the semi-final. But he managed to set up Lampard for the clincher, crossing from the right for his team-mate to force home.
