Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta says he decided to stay this summer for the club's new owners.
Azpilicueta was coming off contract and in talks with Barcelona about a return home to Spain. But he eventually decided to accept new terms from Chelsea and stay.
He explained: "At Chelsea I played less than 30 games and was already a free agent. It had never happened to me in my life.
"But the new owners arrived and showed me the desire to stick with me.
“London is my home and my children speak better English than Spanish.
“When I made the decision I think Xavi understood. If things are clear, they are understood."
