Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has welcomed the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

The Senegal captain's move was confirmed on Saturday morning.'

Tuchel said from the USA: "I'm very happy with him signing and joining our team.

"He's now the second signing of the summer and again we have a strong player, a strong personality with big experience. From our point of view, he's a perfect addition to the group."

Tuchel also said of fellow new signing Raheem Sterling: "He's on an individual programme and did not join the team because the team is two weeks ahead of him in intense double training sessions.

"It's not the moment where he joins full team training for every minute. It's still pretty demanding but on a different level to everyone else.

"I have the feeling that he's ready, absolutely happy to be here and it's a new chapter for his career. It's been a relaxed first few days."
