Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has effusively praised youngster Malo Gusto.

The full-back has shown his world class potential in the past few games for the club.

Gusto has been thrust into a prominent role with the constant injury issues plaguing Reece James.

Asked about Gusto, Pochettino told reporters: “Of course, pleased. It is a player that is so young. He looks more mature than he is. He came from a difficult situation at Lyon because in the last few months he didn't play and then came here to adapt to a new country, new football. It was tough.

“He is doing well, I am so happy with him. Always with a young kid, some mindset is different, we need to agree, time to realize.

“We talk about young kids also from England, but him that came from France it's to adapt, to learn and improve. We are in a good process. He is doing well, I am so happy that he can perform when Reece is out. It's a good contribution for the club and for the team."
