Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino admits they debated canceling a player's loan move.

The Blues had sent Cesare Casadei to Leicester City in the Championship for the season.

Despite Casadei being a regular in a team vying for automatic promotion, he was recalled in the winter by Chelsea.

Pochettino told reporters this week: “I think it was a tough decision because he was playing at Leicester and we didn't want to cut his development.

“But with the injuries to Lavia and Ugochukwu, it was needed.

“If you see the squad, it's only Enzo and Moises, and Conor, and then not another real midfielder."
