England coach Roy Hodgson is set to name Chelsea fullback Ashley Cole in his squad for the friendly with Brazil.
Cole is in line to win his 100th England cap and join an elite group of footballers in next week's friendly against Brazil.
Cole is expected to be in a 25-man squad named on Thursday by Roy Hodgson, who has ditched his plan to blood more youngsters in Wednesday's friendly at Wembley against the next World Cup hosts.
Raheem Sterling, Wilfried Zaha and Jonjo Shelvey - all capped at senior level this season - are pencilled in for Stuart Pearce's Under 21 squad, who face Sweden in a friendly at Walsall on Tuesday.
Chelsea left back Cole, 32, has only played once for England this season due to injury and the progress of Leighton Baines.
He is often rested from non-competitive internationals on account of his fragile ankles, but he remains first choice and will be just the seventh England footballer to reach the century.
