Charlton Athletic are set to sign Simon Makienok from Palermo.

Reports suggest that the towering Danish striker will join the Championship club on a season-long loan with the view to a permanent deal.

Makienok joined Italian side Palermo from Brondby for £3million last summer but managed just four appearances for the Sicilian club and will now look to resurrect his career in south east London with Charlton.
