Cesc tells ex-Chelsea pal Courtois: Barcelona worthy champions

AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas insists Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is wrong claiming Barcelona would not deserve the title if the LaLiga season was abandoned.

Fabregas understands why his former Chelsea teammate made his comments, but the Monaco midfielder says it is something that would have to be accepted, just as his current side have had to since Ligue 1's termination.

"Everyone defends their own interests," Fabregas told TVE.

"At Monaco, we have been left without Europe next year for very little.

"But if [LaLiga Santander] stopped, as it has done in France, Barcelona would be worthy winners.

"We are not stopping because we like it. We are doing for an unavoidable cause."
