Celta Vigo shock Real Madrid in Copa

Real Madrid have been shocked at home by Celta Vigo in the first-leg of their Copa del Rey quarterfinal clash.

Celta handed Real Madrid their second straight defeat with a stunning 2-1 victory at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Spain international Iago Aspas and Jonny sandwiched a Marcelo goal to give the Galicians the advantage heading into next week's return leg in Vigo. All three goals came in a span of six minutes in the second half, notably with Jonny's match-winner being scored just 20 seconds after Marcelo had drawn Real level.

As for Real, after going unbeaten in 40 consecutive matches, Los Blancos have now tasted defeat twice in a span of three days. While Real did fail to finish off some chances, much of the credit can be given to the Celta defence, which did well to contain Cristiano Ronaldo.
