Celta Vigo icon Iago Aspas can understand former teammate Gabri Veiga leaving for Al Ahli.

The Spain U21 star shocked local football with his decision to leave for the Saudi Pro League last month.

Aspas said, “These are situations that happen in the world of football. It is true that other people expected another type of club as a destination, or as a jump to the elite.

"But well, the family and the boy considered that the best thing was to go to Arabia and the club received money that it cannot ignore today with the way the world of football is."

Aspas was also asked about a possible return for Veiga, just as he did after his time with Liverpool: “Man, I don't know if he will return, he left 4 or 5 days ago, but it is true that he has signed a short contract in quotes, 3 seasons for all the money that has been moved in the operation, and we hope that one day he can return like many homegrown players left and returned."
