Celta Vigo defender Mingueza happy proving matchwinner against Almeria

Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza was delighted proving the matchwinner against Almeria.

Mingueza struck the only goal of the game to ease pressure on coach Rafa Benitez.

He later said: "In the first half it was a little difficult for us to generate, but we were good in terms of attitude and defence, with vigilance when we attacked.

"In the second half we were more comfortable, we started to generate and found a little more.

"We hit people between the lines and we did damage. It was a very good victory, a lot of hard work from the team and I think we deserved it."

On his goal, Mingueza said: "Before I had had one, I had shot very weakly because I was running with the ball too fast and I hit badly. I spent about ten minutes thinking that when I had another one, I had to slow down to hit better. I thought that the next time I plugged it in and I was lucky that it came in."

On the fans, he added: "Every weekend in Balaídos they are there. Three weeks ago, after the game against Barcelona, I asked them to continue supporting us and they continue to do so like the first day. We are very grateful and happy with the victory."
