Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza appreciates the support from new coach Carlos Carvalhal.

After joining from Barcelona in the summer, Mingueza had a tough start to his career with Celta.

But he is thriving under Carvalhal, "I remember (Ronald) Koeman also asking me that when we were attacking in their area he would put me almost as a pivot. It is a position very similar to when we played with three defenders.

"With Koeman it was more starting from the base of five behind, with Sergi on the wing. Here is a game that depends more on the rival and we can defend with four or five.

"Then, with a ball, he does ask me to be more marked than three. I have the freedom to go in the middle or to upload the wing when I play and see it clearly. That freedom helps me to be able to make a better game, for the team to play better, and surprise."
