Celta Vigo coach Rafa Benitez insists Gabri Veiga's future could yet be with them for the season.
Amid intense transfer speculation, Veiga featured from the bench for the defeat at home to Osasuna on Sunday.
Benitez later said: "Gabri told me he was fine. I let him in and he gave his all.
"Exclusion due to the transfer market? We don't control the transfer market. The fact that the transfer market is open once the league has started is something that coaches have always complained about every day. And it has never been resolved.
"It shouldn't be like this, you can have players whose minds are elsewhere, but that doesn't concern Gabri. The boy told me he was available, he entered the field and showed his grit. If there are players who are there today and tomorrow, perhaps, will be in the team you have to face, it's strange. We say the same thing every year and it just keeps going."
