Rio Ave coach Carlos Carvahal says Bruno Fernandes can handle his move to Manchester United.
The former Sporting CP captain made the switch yesterday.
And Carvahal, who coached in the Premier League with Swansea City, declared: "He goes to a league where the level is high, but I think he has value in being a reference player in the English league.
"I think he will fit in well for his offensive characteristics, also because he is good defensively and strong in transitions. He is a great acquisition for Manchester United.
"Playing as a midfielder, he scored 20 goals last year, eight the previous year, and this year he takes eight, he is outstanding. In addition, he is a starter in the Portuguese team, where it is currently difficult for a player to assert himself."
