Carragher fears for Sturridge, Benteke under new Liverpool regime

Jamie Carragher suggests the Liverpool futures of Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke are unclear due to Jurgen Klopp's game plan.

The German had his players cover an enormous amount of distance in their 0-0 draw with Tottenham on Saturday an although it was a positive beginning, Carragher questions whether players like Sturridge and Benteke will be able to properly operate in such a pressing game style.

"The challenge is that Liverpool are not scoring goals," he said on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.

"Can Klopp get Sturridge and Benteke to buy into that? Five or six Liverpool players covered more distance than they've ever done in that game.

"I think he's the type of manager who demands it. That's not to say he'll put Sturridge on the bench, but he'll expect it to come. And they'll have to, if they want to stay at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp."
