Ki Sung-yueng has scored a late winner to give Sunderland a 2-1 win over Chelsea in the quarter-final of the Capital One Cup.
The South Korean midfielder, on loan from Swansea City, netted in extra-time as the Black Cats came from behind to beat the Blues at the Stadium of Light, allowing them to move into the semi-final.
A much-changed Chelsea line-up took the lead in the first minute of the second half when Cesar Azpilicueta's low cross from the right was bundled in by Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole.
Just as it seemed the Blues were headed for victory, Fabio Borini came off the bench to rifle home an 88th-minute equaliser, sending the contest into 15 minutes each way of added time.
Sunderland worked their socks off during that phase and it paid dividends as Ki, who earlier had a goal-bound header brilliantly denied by Mark Schwarzer, was able to fire past the left hand of the veteran in the 118th minute.
The upset victory sends Gus Poyet's side into the final four of the league cup, which takes place on the week commencing January 6, joining Manchester City who cruised past Leicester City 3-1.
Wednesday night sees Tottenham host West Ham United as Manchester United head to Stoke City for their quarter-final.
