England boss Fabio Capello was immediately onto the phone to David Beckham after the AC Milan midfielder suffered a serious Achilles injury yesterday. After victory over Chievo Verona, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani confirmed Beckham would be missing for "five to six months" after rupturing his Achilles tendon.

Capello made immediate contact with the LA Galaxy star and revealed: "We have to await the outcome of the exam. I offered him my best wishes for a speedy recovery. The World Cup? We'll have to look for someone else."
