Fabio Capello says David Beckham's place in the England squad may depend on him staying with AC Milan. Milan are continuing negotiations with LA Galaxy for Beckham and Capello warned: "I choose the players in the best form, and now Beckham is here.

"Last year in February Beckham was not in the squad because he did not play. Now he is playing, he is here, because he is a good player. Only for this reason, not for sympathy.

"Beckham must choose. Campionato (Serie A) is a very strong test for him. The US League is not the same, the level is different."
