Joaquin Caparros is taking charge of Real Mallorca.
Mallorca vice-president Llorenzo Serra Ferrer announced on Monday night they had reached an initial agreement with Caparros and hoped to put the finishing touches on the deal on Tuesday.
Caparros would take over the post left vacant by Michael Laudrup's resignation last week, with the Dane stepping down just five games into the new Primera Division season.
Interim boss Miguel Angel Nadal was in charge for Saturday's 2-2 draw with Osasuna, a result that left Mallorca ninth in the standings on seven points.
